Hamble Club FC

Hamble Club Football Club stands as a longstanding presence in Hamble-le-Rice, Hampshire. Formed originally as a youth team through local initiative, the club has developed into a multi-level organisation that fields senior sides alongside an extensive junior setup. Nicknamed The Monks, it holds Charter Standard status, reflecting commitment to structured development across all sections.

The club’s progression began in junior and Saturday leagues before entry into the Hampshire League structure. Subsequent reorganisations saw integration into the Wessex League system, followed by a period in the Hampshire Premier League.

After a brief withdrawal, the club returned at a lower tier and secured successive promotions through strong performances in both senior and reserve divisions. These advancements culminated in a return to the Wessex League, where the first team claimed the Division One title to reach the Premier Division.

Home fixtures occur at the Abbey, previously known as the Shell Mex Ground and now part of the Hamble Community Facility on Hamble Lane. Upgrades to the venue have supported the club’s rise through the leagues, providing suitable infrastructure for competitive matches. The ground serves as the central hub for all teams.

Senior football includes the first team in the Wessex League Premier Division and reserves in combination leagues. The first team wears yellow and black striped kits at home, with dark blue for away matches. Achievements include multiple division titles and a League Cup victory, alongside notable runs in national competitions such as the FA Vase.

Youth provision remains integral, with numerous teams across age groups competing in junior leagues. This broad base ensures pathways from early participation to senior level, reinforcing the club’s role in local sport.
